Mary Mooney Burns is a certified BoardSource consultant with over 30 years of experience working for, on, and with nonprofit boards. She is passionate about empowering boards to become purpose-driven leaders of change.
Drawing on her extensive background in nonprofit leadership and governance, Mary collaborates with boards to enhance engagement, foster diversity, and align their efforts with their mission. Her work focuses on creating vibrant, effective boards that drive meaningful impact in their communities.
Mary founded OnBoard KC after a 10 month long listening session with the Greater Kansas City nonprofit community. Board recruitment with a mission-aligned lens surfaced as a universal need for our local nonprofits as well as leadership volunteers.
